Australia – Sydney
Wednesday 28 March (6:30pm – 8:45pm)
Be part of the Neurons.AI global community of AI Practitioners.
Join this event and meet local professionals working in AI, Machine Learning and Data Science. We also get representation from VCs and Startups joining us too. This will be an opportunity to talk with people across a diverse range of industries who are apply machine learning to solve their specific business problems. Our meetings are a mix of social networking and knowledge sharing with experienced speakers talking about their application of AI and Machine Learning. A great opportunity to meet new people and build your network of people working in this amazing industry. Bring an open mind, a willingness to meet and talk with new people and enjoy good vibes.

Tristan Sasse: Data Scientist at Winc Australia
Tristan completed his PhD in 2013 in the field of Applied Oceanography at UNSW. The focus of his work was quantifying the oceans role in mitigating rising atmospheric Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere and subsequent implications for the oceans biogeochemical processes.
Title of the talk: Using AI to quantify the oceans role in mitigating atmospheric Carbon Dioxide emissions and ocean acidification.
Hear how we developed and tested a machine learning approach to capture monthly ocean surface maps of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) air-sea exchange and subsequent change to oceans chemical composition. We then projected ocean surface CO2 concentrations to the year 2100 to quantify when critical thresholds for marine ecosystem stability will be passed.
